The boat protests took place in Batangas City, Lamon Bay in Quezon, Limay in Bataan, Naga in Cebu, Tabango in Leyte, and Zamboanga City. Organizers from the Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development (APMDD) and the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice (PMCJ) stated that the action aimed to send “a strong message to world leaders attending COP29 about the dangers posed to the peoples and planet by massive investments in fossil gas.”
