THE Municipality of Motiong, Samar, under the leadership of Mayor Renato T. Cabael, recently extended financial assistance amounting to Twenty Thousand Pesos (PhP20,000.00) to a former rebel turned Peacebuilder as part of its Local Social Integration Program (LSIP).

This initiative marks a significant milestone for Motiong, following the enactment of Municipal Executive Order No 11-12-2023-106, which created and activated the Localized Peace Engagement (LPE) Panel, defining its roles and functions within the municipality.

Mayor Renato T. Cabael expressed the municipality’s commitment to supporting former rebels who have chosen the path of peace. He stated, “We are committed to providing assistance and support to former rebels who have chosen the path of peace. Through the Local Social Integration Program, we aim to empower them and help them reintegrate into society as productive citizens.”
